18 year old mayor

The city of Hillsdale, Mighigan voted a 18 year old into the office of mayor. Does a 18 yeah old really have what it takes to fulfill this position.

With just 8,200 people, the town is pretty small, i.e., everyone knows everyone else.

I am sure the young mayor will have plenty of experienced people to hire as staff. After all, half the town voted for him, so he must be deemed trustworthy by people who know him well. He is probably quite smart, knows his community well, and, I doubt he'll have to deal with big decisions, e.g., building an underground railway, huge sports stadium or a conference center.
